Playa del Carmen
We tell about a vacation, that has made ready us much joy in its mixture of hotel, beach, Maya-Culturaltour and adventure-tour.
We started in the middle of March to a 15-days travel. The flight to Cancun from Frankfurt lasted 10 flight-hours approximately, the transference to the hotel in Playa del Carmen took once again one
hour.
We lived in the Hotel
& Club Viva-Maya and we liked to stay there.
The place Playa del Carmen
Its a former fisher-village, approximately 70 kilometers south from Cancun, with Caribbean beaches and turquoise-colored water. A glaring contrast to Cancun, the chic luxury-vacation-place. The place still transmits a very casual atmosphere. There are no high-rises, everything takes a very peaceful village course. In the place Playa
del Carmen there are also amply affordable small hotels and pensions for low-budget-tourists

Playa del Carmen is suitable - despite tempting active-offers at the beach - very well as start-point for a row of attractive trips: for example with the ferry to Cozumel, the biggest island of Mexico. It is known as first-class diving - and snorkel-precinct world-wide. Or however again on the tracks of that Maya: The famous ruin-city Tulum - the
only directly at the sea - lies one car-hour of Playa del Carmen and Coba, the deep city in the jungle, is only approximately 50 kilometers further. Or one visits the gigantic nature - and the leisure event-parks of Xcaret or Xel Ha, where exotic animals and picturesque folklore provide alternation and entertainment.

Playacar
At the marvellous sandy beaches, the so-called
"Playacar", you'll find numerous hotels, that offer mainly all-inclusive-holidays, that however is absolutely to be marked as "upper
level".
There are hotels, like Viva Maya, the Allegro and like the Club Resort Playacar
that are built in the typical mexican style. Roofs partly with palm-fly whisks covered - the hotels offer groomed club-atmosphere, without pushy animation, but with high residential-comfort and good kitchen.
There are also high-manorial hotels with colonnades and luxurious interior like the RIU-Hotels Palace Mexico, Tequila and Yucatan.
Or however the Hotel Iberostar, in horseshoe- form around one piece of jungles, through which each guest goes to the meal, built a
parade- example of environmentally sustainable hotel-architecture.
At the long beach of Playacar lures an universal water-sport-offer, from the fishing rod-boat up to the
parachute-sailing. In Playa del Carmen, there is a small airfield, from which You can do bigger trips, as for example to Palenque.
